KJM Staffing Solutions has a great opportunity for a Director of Legal Recruiting with our top ranked, global law firm client.  This role will be based in the New York office and will be responsible for innovating, developing and implementing systems for firm-wide attorney recruiting over the entire recruiting life cycle, and coordinating these efforts on a day to day basis.

  • Align attorney recruiting strategies with the Firm’s strategic plan and work collaboratively with talent team to set overall talent objectives.
  • Innovate and manage entry level recruiting, including evaluating the criteria used for selecting candidates, outreach to candidates, and annual analysis of predictors of success.
  • Direct the hiring process and onboarding of lateral attorneys.
  • Develop recruiting policies, procedures and initiatives, including updating the Firm’s academic guidelines.
  • Oversee on campus recruiting including training interviewers before on campus interviews, managing on campus interviewing season, updating and overseeing hospitality suites, oversee creative giveaways, manage callback decisions, receptions, post-offer events and follow up.
  • Insure a top notch summer associate program, including orientation and training program for all US summer associates.
  • Develop Campus Relations teams to oversee relationships with career services offices, leverage alumni attorneys, and oversee firm sponsorships of student groups.
  • Plan Law School 1L events, offeree events, and other key recruiting events.
  • Create unique marketing materials, regularly upgrade career pages on the Firm’s website.
  • Oversee external reports including NALP Directory, Vault Reports, American Lawyer Surveys, and others.
  • Build and enhance relationships with search firms.
  • Develop consistency in communications to candidates.
  • Liaison to Hiring Partners, Practice Group heads, Heads of Infrastructure and Office Managers on all hiring matters Firm-wide.
  • Provide direction, leadership and management of the legal recruiting team globally and daily oversight of workflows on the team. Serve as mentor and advisor to the team.
  • Oversee budget, allocation of resources and hiring for the department.
The ideal candidate has a 4-year degree (Graduate degree preferred) and at least 6-10 years of progressive, large law firm legal recruiting leadership. This role offers a highly competitive base and excellent growth potential.
