People Analytics Specialist

The Specialist will work with the Manager to develop and deliver firm wide HR analytics and reports using data from Workday, PeopleSoft and other SQL databases using varying techniques ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining and trend analysis to gather, manage and interpret HR data.  Incumbent will provide support for metrics and analytics related to various HR programs and initiatives including diversity & inclusion, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, recruitment, retention and etc.
 
Responsibilities
  •  Research and respond to HR data, metrics and compensation related questions providing high-quality client service to HR leadership and colleagues
  • Develop effective relationships with HR leadership and colleagues and provide them with guidance on data, reporting requests
  • Research market trends and proactively share information with HR leadership and colleagues
  • Develop and generate standard (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly) and ad-hoc reports for ongoing internal and external needs including monthly headcount report, RFP requests, FSD requests, government reporting such as the EEO-1
  • Assist in development of HR metrics designed to understand and measure the impact of HR policies and programs on recruitment, retention, engagement, productivity, departures, etc. e.g. cost per hire, offer acceptance rate, first year turnover cost rate, manager satisfaction with new hire, average days absent, average retention rate, employees eligible for retirement, diversity and inclusion, etc.
  • Assist in development and completion of complex analytical models and analytical projects in support of assessing and/or improving HR programs and policies
  • Develop effective PowerPoint presentations using HR data and metrics for the leadership and management.
  • Assist in development of tools to speed and automate the production of dashboards, complex models and analyses
  • Regularly monitor accuracy of data in Workday to ensure validity of reports and analytics and provide feedback and coaching to colleagues responsible for data processing as needed
  • Conduct annual competitive market analyses, including assessment of economic trends, geographic differentials and make recommendations to HR Leadership about merit increase and discretionary bonus targets for associate and business services
  • In collaboration with Employment team, respond to published salary surveys and analyze survey results   
  • Evaluate new survey offerings and make recommendations to HR Leadership team about participation
  • Conduct benchmarking and internal equity analyses
  • Compile and distribute compensation data for the annual compensation review process
  • Monitor salary and bonus budgets as requested
 
Required Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.  Advanced Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience with people data analytics and reporting, ideally including some financial analysis and modeling
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency of Excel including v-lookup, pivot tables and advanced formulas and formatting as well as PowerPoint is required
  • Hands-on experience with Workday including running delivered reports, auditing data, developing custom reports, configuring dashboards
  • Working knowledge of compensation laws concerning federal and state regulations a plus     
  • Must be a subject matter expert for HR reporting and analytics with in-depth knowledge and understanding of analytics methodologies, initiatives, metrics and tools such as Workday and Tableau
  • Proven ability to manipulate and analyze moderately complex data
  • Prior experience working with compensation and other sensitive/confidential data
