Business Development Manager (Antitrust)

SourcePro Search has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager (Antitrust/Competition). Our client is a top ranked global law firm and this role can be based in the New York, Philadelphia or Washington, DC office.  This role offers a high base, bonus and excellent growth opportunities.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Supporting practice group’s efforts to develop and implement their business plans and marketing budgets, individual partner plans and targeted business development efforts
  • Oversee the development and execution of marketing and product line plans for the global group, working closely with partners to formulate clear achievable goals
  • Enhance the practice group’s profile and key differentiators in product line areas by developing messaging and market position, campaigns, ideas for programs and client communications that reach target audiences
  • Communicate the value proposition of product lines to internal and external audiences
  • Identify and oversee conference/ sponsorship opportunities that generate the most value and implement successful follow through.
  • Identify product line synergies and drive related marketing/BD initiatives.
  • Designing and executing new business initiatives for the practices including thought leadership, events, client seminars and / or training programs with communications, core BD and other admin teams and departments
  • Monitoring various marketing publications and other sources for potential opportunities and communicating intelligence gathered to partners on a regular basis
  • Analyzing markets and conducting research into industries, sectors, clients and competition in order to inform strategic planning
  • Pitches, legal directories and marketing collateral
  • Evaluate and collaborate with attorneys on responses to RFPs and other new business proposals. 
  • Preparing all relevant directory submissions; scheduling interview calls; preparing specific talking points; identifying and tracking practice specific awards / submissions
  • Developing and maintaining marketing collateral (brochures, capability presentations, web content) in conjunction with core BD team; ensuring all information are kept up-to-date in the relevant databases
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop client facing pitch strategies and provide all necessary research and other relevant preparation, including coaching.
  • Coordinating with the PR/Communications team to identify media opportunities, including speaking and by-lined articles; facilitating publication of articles and other writings
 
Qualifications
 
  • Minimum of 8 years in progressively responsible business development roles in legal marketing or other professional services firms
  • Bachelor degree required; advanced degree such as a JD or MBA preferred
  • Significant experience managing pitches, legal directory submissions and the full range of legal marketing and business development services
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and advise partners on direction with strong execution and follow through.
  • Global experience is required.
