Professional Development Coordinator

Responsibilities 
  • Works with the Professional Development Director and Professional Development Manager on all aspects of the lawyer performance management process, including lawyer follow-up, evaluation tracking, and preparation of materials
  • Reviews and analyzes performance evaluations and feedback to recommend training programs that fulfill associate development needs and requests
  • Coordinates various lawyer training programs, including the mini-MBA series and business development trainings
  • Coordinates all aspects of the firm’s Summer Associate University, including a complex mock transaction program
  • Organizes and analyzes program evaluations and recommends program modifications
  • Coordinates and attends monthly meetings of the New York Associates Committee and helps the committee and PD team plan events and implement new initiatives
  • Coordinates the firm’s Rosetta Stone language program
  • Together with the Professional Development Manager and members of the Marketing team, maintains the firm’s Career Center, a job board containing internal and external career opportunities
  • Plans and executes various social events throughout the year
  • Researches best practices for initiatives designed to enhance associate development, engagement, and retention and recommends new firm programs and initiatives
  • Enters firm, client, and MCLE program information into CE Manager, the firm’s MCLE tracking database
  • Assists in drafting, editing, and uploading content for the Professional Development intranet site
  • Builds rapport with associates
  • Assists the Professional Development team and the wider Human Resources Department with additional projects as needed, including new hire orientations, global conferences, and eLearning initiatives
 
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Min of 2- years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows-based systems
  • Familiarity with viDesktop, CE Manager and Workday
